This "signature" looks nothing like that of the real author. Hardbound book condition: good. Dust jacket condition: very good. Dust jacket is very good with wear along edges; brown boards cocked with white titles at spine good; binding sound; pages near fine but slightly tanned. 387 pages; 9.5 X 6.3 X 1.3; 1 lb. 14.5 oz. shipping weight. No writer quite matches the late P.D. James' literary ambitions for the mystery genre. In this volume, she combines the police procedural with the gothic and what's come to be called the English cozy (murders among the "quality" living [and dying] in great houses). This is a remarkable bit of mystery fiction.
